CapAccel, founded in 2014, is a San Francisco-based merchant bank and the first to focus exclusively on the FinTech and alternative finance sector. The firm provides clients with advisory and capital markets services to accelerate growth.

The CapAccel team has raised over $3 billion of capital for alternative finance companies, ranging from seed to mature platforms, across a broad range of assets. Most notably, we’ve raised long-term capital from sources which have traditionally not invested in the sector. We partner with clients to advise, structure and originate capital tailored to meet their unique needs.

Our Approach

Experience

The CapAccel team has 60+ years of combined experience in the finance sector, including stints at Goldman Sachs, McKinsey & Company, Transamerica, SoFi and Golden Gate Capital. We draw on our multi-faceted experience – as operators, investors and intermediaries – to deliver a holistic set of services to clients.

Network

We leverage our network to source long-term capital from institutions which have traditionally not invested in the sector, including regional banks, insurance companies and family offices. These relationships date back decades working as an investor in, and serving as an intermediary to, U.S. financial institutions. Today, CapAccel maintains active dialogue with over 300 participants in the FinTech sector, including a diverse range of capital sources and lending platforms.

Execution

Our depth and breadth of experience, combined with an extensive network, culminates in optimal execution for our clients. A majority of the capital we’ve raised to-date for clients has come in the form of bespoke arrangements. Each capital raise is rooted in a fundamental understanding of our client’s product and business objectives.
